Irvington's 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders created their own sketchbooks on our very first day of art together. At the very beginning of each class, they do a quick 5-minute sketch with a fun drawing prompt. The students have also been using them to plan out ideas for their art projects. I just had to share some photos of 3rd grade's outstanding observational drawings. Those kiddos are so talented!!!! |
This is where the creating happens! Because the art studio is in a new space this year, I thought I'd give you a little virtual tour. I'm sure more posters & artwork will be going up in the coming months & soon it will look more loved & lived-in. I can't wait until we start getting a little messier up in here! FUN FACT: The art studio is also used as a math classroom for part of the day, which I am so excited about! Math & art are connected in a lot of ways (just ask Leonardo Da Vinci!) so I'm sure the math teacher & I will be sharing ideas & resources throughout the school year :] |
